Congressman and Iconic Civil Rights Leader John Lewis Dies at 80

The nation mourns the tragic loss of veteran congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis.

Please enjoy this documentary about John Lewis’s life and achievements, as a tribute to his contributions and heroism.

But first, a heart-felt word from Face Activities’ Gill:

Yesterday we lost two icons of the civil rights movement: revolutionary figures John Robert Lewis and C.T. Vivian. It is a great loss for our country as a whole.

They started the movement with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and endured much pain and sacrifice in order to eradicate segregation, and establish basic human rights, not only for black Americans, but for all whose rights were violated based on race, gender, or ethnicity, including blacks, whites and Native Americans.

Their work is not finished. The movement must continue until we secure proper human rights and dignity for all.

Our eyes were full of tears when we heard of the passing of John Lewis. But many didn’t know that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer six months ago. There are double standards in our media, Television, newspapers, and so on.

It’s good that TV stations right now are celebrating their lives, but it would have been nice if we got more news about his illness and condition, right along.

We know that making money from ads is a major goal for television news, but it should not be so important that reporters and anchors regularly ignore the delivery of basic news to their audiences.

How many times has Donald Trump Tweeted something bad about Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden (24 hours a day / 7 days a week) ? Such stories make very good money for national and international TV news. But other types of news stories aren’t such money-making machines. And that is why they don’t get the real, necessary air time that they should.

Let’s leave skin color aside

Human beauty has nothing to do with skin color. It’s the structure of the human face that makes the difference, whether the person is beautiful, ugly, presentable, or not. Let’s leave skin color aside once and for all, and don’t engage in racist conversations, because it’s definitely shameful.

Americans aren’t just white, but many races, including Native American, black, white, brown, Asian, and many more.

Calling black people in America African Americans is wrong, in my understanding. It gives the criminal white supremacist mind the idea of doing wrong to black people. They are not Africans any more. They’ve been living here, along side white people, for 400 years.

Black and brown Americans have had at least the same share in building this country, and maybe more so, than white Americans. Haven’t they arrived at the same time and done the all hard, difficult work?

And all Angels of the Great God aren’t white either. We make them white in our imagination. If angels exist we should imagine them with different colorS.

That is the reality. And if we think this way it may change human stupidity and nonsensical behavior in regards to our treatment of the human race and each other.

Please be advised, we must use this opportunity and the people’s frustration to make drastic, major, reasonable changes to the law. Stop killing and committing crimes against innocent black people.

Otherwise all the lives lost  (Trayvon  Martin, Tamir Rice, Ahmaud Arbery, and many more, will be for nothing. We certainly do not want that to happen: enough is enough! Change is long, long over due.

I wish demonstrators all over the USA start celebrating the lost one’s lives, even by dancing in the streets and expressing their feeling in this manner—why not?

How Long Can Coronavirus Live On Surfaces, And Does Disinfecting Work?

“When it comes to the new coronavirus going around (aka COVID-19), good hygiene seems to be our best line of defense. Because the virus has only been on our radar for a couple of months, we don’t have a preventive vaccine yet, nor do we have an effective way to treat the respiratory illness the virus causes. And though researchers are getting close to putting potential vaccines to the test, it’ll likely be about a year before they’re ready for us…” (Huff Post Life, Yahoo News)

A Letter to Michael Moore

Mr. Moore,

You are certainly wrong about the Shah of Iran: “Shah” means king in the Farsi language.

First, the USA did not give this title to him (as you were mentioning to Ali Velshi in the MSNBC conversation about Iran recently.

The Shah earned this title as a second (2) king of dynasty Phalavi.

95% of your information about Iran’s history is wrong. The Shah was very a peaceful king, not just in Iran but towards all the Countries of the world, including the USA.

Being a peaceful king does not mean he was a puppet. You are very wrong.

The Mullahs’ ( Ayatollas) current administration in Iran try to be the same, good and peaceful too. But the war mongers’ agendas would never allow that to happen.

Mr. Moore, tell me which side are you on?
