AHCA is a Disaster

AHCA is a Disaster

After days of secret negotiations, despite the fact that congressional republicans had years during the Obama Administration to get their collective acts together, the AHCA bill was finally released for public scrutiny.

It’s an unmitigated disaster for millions of ordinary Americans: the worst fears, and the warnings of activists and democratic lawmakers alike, have been realized. The Bill is actually so bad that four GOP Senators are planning to vote against it, including high-profile Libertarian firebrand Dr. Rand Paul. And many more are undecided.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, over the course of 10 years the AHCA will cause 22 million Americans to lose their health insurance coverage, and it’s unlikely to lower premiums. In fact, there’s a good chance older Americans between the ages of 50 and 62 will see substantial increases in their health insurance premiums. Some medical doctors have even gone so far as to say the AHCA stands for the “Americans Hate Children Act.” Clearly the American People, in particular Trump voters, have been duped.

President Trump has stated in recent weeks that the bill is “mean.” In fact, it transcends mean. It’s homicidal. As it stands now, the bill is the worst fraud law-makers have perpetrated on the American People in generations. After promising to repeal and replace an imperfect healthcare system, the AFC, aka “Obamacare,” the new legislation fails to meet the needs of the American People. Tens of millions of Americans losing their health insurance coverage is simply unacceptable.

It’s imperative that American Citizens stand up to the GOP elite and against this outrage. Call your Senators and let them known that consider the new healthcare bill to be dangerous and unacceptable. Any delay can bide time for more GOP Senators to come on board in opposition.
